State-Level Tax Compliance — Register Before You Pay Salaries
Professional Tax is a state-level tax levied on salaried employees and self-employed individuals by state governments under their respective Professional Tax Acts. Despite the name, it applies to all professions, trades, and employment — not just professionals. PT is NOT applicable in states like Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and UP.
As an employer, you have two PT obligations: (a) Employer Enrolment Certificate (EC) — registration for the business entity, which pays a flat annual employer PT; and (b) Employer Registration Certificate (RC) — for deducting PT from employee salaries based on salary slabs and depositing it with the state government, with monthly/quarterly returns. VITTAX handles both registrations and manages ongoing PT compliance for your entity and employees.
